South and West Chiller Plants

Description: Huen has been a key part of the team that is helping the University of Chicago meet its aggressive building goals. We are managing installation of all electrical and distribution equipment for two new chiller plants and a boiler plant to service new university building projects and supplement existing utilities. Our work includes installing a system to allow remote monitoring of power usage and equipment status, which will optimize performance of the new chillers.
Electrical Systems:
Each plant consists of:
- (2) 4160 Volt services
- (3) 4160 Volt chillers with combined installed capacity of 11,700 tons of chilled water
- South plant is designed to be an automated stand alone plant.
- West plant is combination of chiller/boiler plants with sophisticated power and state-of-the-art monitoring systems.
