One South Dearborn

THE RESIDENCE OF SHERMAN PLAZA A new, 26-story, high-end condominium building in the heart of Evanston’s downtown, and is the keystone to the redevelopment of that area. Huen Electric was chosen by Focus Development, and W.E. O’Neil Construction Company to provide design-build construction services for the project. This will be our second design-build project with Focus Development. We recently completed the Church Street condominium project just down the block from Sherman Plaza.

The project consists of a new 26-story concrete structure with 234 condominium units and 12 luxury units on the 23rd, 24th and 25th floors. Many of the units will have private balconies or terraces. The facility will include many amenities including a hospital room on the 3rd floor along with a roof garden complete with a bocce ball court and sun deck.

ONE SOUTH DEARBORN is a new 40-story high-rise office building located at the corner of Madison & Dearborn in Chicago's central business district. Major tenants, Sidley Austin Brown & Wood LLP will occupy 500,000 of the building's 820,000 square feet. Huen will provide multiple tenant services, security systems, fire alarm and core building electric power and lighting. Special custom lighting for the lobby and exterior of this beautiful building will make it a unique and a most desirable addition to the Chicago skyline.

MARIANJOY REHABILITATION HOSPITAL - 175,000 square foot replacement hospital located on a 64.5 acre wooded campus in Wheaton, IL. When complete, there will be 120 private ADA accessible rooms, other features of the hospital include a pediatric suite with adjoining therapy space, new chapel, meditation room, wellness center, and overnight accommodations for guests.
Huen will install a redundant 3000 amp 480 volt power distribution system which will provide power for the facility through a network of distribution equipment. A remote 900 kilowatt generator will provide power for the redundant emergency and critical power distribution systems through a series of automatic transfer switches. Life-safety systems include fire alarm and nurse call for assistance. Other low voltage systems include a background music and paging system, secured card access, and closed circuit television systems.
This is the second of three phases of work which includes the renovation of the existing hospital space and the construction of a 517 space parking garage. Completion is scheduled for spring of 2006.

LOYOLA UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER SELF PARKING STRUCTURE is a new 1,323 vehicle, six-story, free-standing parking garage. Located on Loyola’s medical campus, the structure replaces two existing single level, open-air parking lots. The project was designed by Walker Parking Consultants in conjunction with Pepper Construction Co. Design standards require all exposed conduit to be steel heavy-wall, utilizing all cast boxes. The pre-cast structure will require extensive coordination for box-outs, sleeves and cores. The electrical system will be fed from the University’s 13.2kV system; we will utilize a new 500kVA 13.2kV transformer to convert the power for the garage service. Along with the power and light, the structure will include a complete fire alarm system, rescue assistance system, personnel safety system and a close circuit TV (security) system. The parking facility is scheduled for completion in June of 2005.
