Description: Huen New York was a key team member in the construction of the new addition to the SI Newhouse School of Public Communications and the renovation of Newhouse II in this three building complex. Our work involved power distribution, life safety and fire alarm systems. A unique feature of the fire alarm system is a smoke evacuation system which triggers doors and windows to open and roof exhaust fans to remove smoke permitting personnel to leave the building.
Electrical Systems:
- Installed a specialty dimming and control system to integrate lighting control with energy efficient solar shading and permit control of shades, overhead projectors and sound systems from teaching stations.
